Employers required to Equip staff with life saving skills.

To raise local resources, the Uganda Red Cross Society has launched a commercial fleet of ambulances, a First Aid training School, and a call dispatch center.

The modern training school will enable communities, Schools, workplaces, homes, and individuals who have undergone the training to use life-saving skills to attend to any emergency and save lives.

The activity was presided over by the Ministry of Health represented by, Dr. JB Waniaye, the Commissioner of Emergency Medical Services.

According to Robert Kwesiga the Secretary General of Uganda Red Cross, Uganda Red cross plays an auxiliary role to the government in areas of Emergency Health & Disaster Management and accidents using a professional team of first responders.

He says Uganda Red Cross will continue playing a key role in ensuring that companies are trained & staff equipped with safety skills.

Nkonge Douglas, Assistant Commissioner in charge of the occupational safety ministry of gender says the actions by Red Cross are a breakthrough in implementing safety standards at places of work.
