A housemaid, identified as Kiiza Alice, who is alleged to have committed an act of defilement against her employer's four-year-old daughter, has been formally charged with aggravated defilement.
The accused, Kiiza Alice, appeared before High Court Judge Isaac Muwata and pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Following the completion of investigations, the prosecution informed the court that they are ready to proceed with the trial.
Consequently, Kiiza Alice has been remanded to Luzira prison until the 22nd of June, when the trial is scheduled to commence.
According to the prosecution, the alleged incident occurred between the 1st and 12th of August.
The suspect, who resides in Nsasa, Kira Municipality, Wakiso district, is accused of engaging in a sexual act with the four-year-old victim.
Evidence presented during the proceedings revealed that the victim disclosed the incident to her mother after the suspect had left their residence.
Furthermore, the victim revealed that both the suspect and another maid had been physically abusing her and her siblings.
Additionally, they allegedly inserted a stick into her private parts.
The mother reported the incident to the police, leading to the arrest of the suspect.
