The Chief Justice Alphonse Owinyi Dollo has revealed that the judiciary is embarking on the construction of the regional courts of Appeal beginning with Mbarara and Gulu as they take justice closer to the people.

"Your excellency, we are in the process of amending the law so that we can enhance the jurisdiction of the magistrate courts so that they take on more cases than now and reduce on the burden which is on the high Courts by taking away some of the matters being heard on the magistrate courts)." The CJ noted.
