Tororo Christians told toEmbrace Income generating Activities

Christians have been urged to engage in several income generating activities aimed at creating wealth and improving their well being.

The call was made by the Rt Rev. Nathan Ahimbisibwe Bishop of South Ankole Diocese at a colorful ceremony of Ordaining canons at St peters church of Uganda in the eastern district of Tororo.

At the event, 31 reverend deacons were elevated to priesthood , composed of 24 males and seven women clergy.

This followed a five day retreat at Manjasi High school were they were being prepared for the priesthood .

At the event that ran under the Theme: "Conforming to the truth of God's word not the patterns of this world',drawn from Liturgical Colour-Gree Romans 121-2),Rt.

Rev. Samuel George Bogere Egesa,Bishop of Bukedi Diocese says working hard to generate wealth for one's well being is a biblical truth that all Christians should always honor.

What we are encouraging people to do is to work because the bible says God will bless if you work, we encourage Christians to stop folding their hands and go and and work,then God will bless the work of their hands"he says.

Bukedi Diocese was carved out of Mbale diocese in 1972. It is currently headed by The Rt. Rev. Samuel George Bogere Egesa.
