Stop giving us Old animals--Northerners warn government agencies

Government  departments have been warned against procuring old animals for distribution to locals in a bid to promote dairy production and other  wealth creation programs.

The people of northern Uganda  are also asking commercial officers and extension workers to move into communities and educate the population of how they can transform them selves through commercialization of Agriculture and other income generating activities.

this was disclosed by the minister of state in charge of Northern Uganda Dr Kenneth  Omona during the just concluded C.E.O retreat.

The retreat  that ran under the theme"Battle to Green field: Transforming Northern Uganda into а commercialized production & logistical Hub for exports" was attended by President Yoweri Museven.

The retreat  specifically targeted  northern Uganda, with a number of government agencies, religious leaders, businesses, culture leaders,the youth and civil society participating.

The Minister Omona says once old animals are distributed to locals,they die before realizing the real intention of them being given to the beneficiaries.

The PCF working in collaboration with the Office of the Prime Minister ,organised Private sector CEO Retreats.

Four Private Sector CEO Retreats have been convened hitherto, leading to the issuance of policy directives following the resolutions passed and adopted during these high-level engagements, which aim to emphasize the private sector's contribution to the country's development.
