In a recent development Uganda Wildlife Conservation Education Centre (UWEC) formerly known as Entebbe Zoo has unveiled a revised rate card, marking a notable increment in entry fees for some categories of visitors. The decision was announced at the facility’s premises in Entebbe.

According to UWEC’s Executive Director Dr.James Musinguzi, the decision to adjust entry fees comes after careful deliberation and consideration of various factors impacting the center’s operations. Rising costs associated with animal care, habitant maintenance, staff wages, and infrastructure upgrades have necessitated a recalibration in pricing to ensure the center’s long-term sustainability.

The new rates will be effected on 1st July 2024, some categories of visitors planning to visit UWEC’s diverse display of Uganda’s Wildlife will part with double the old charge. The recent increment in admission charges signals a strategic move by UWEC to align its revenue streams with escalating operational expenditures and conservation initiatives.
