Residents of Kyengera, Nkokonjeru B zone in Wakiso district staged a riot blocking the Kampala Masaka high war to protest against Chinese company working on Entebbe express highway accusing it of blocking drainage system leading to flooding of the area.
They are also accusing Chinese Construction Company of destroying their Wells making it hard for them to get water for the past one year.
The angry residents blocked the high way with bricks, old car tires, and tree trunks paralyzing transport this morning for almost two hours.
Moses Kiyaga secretary for defense Nkokonjeru B zone says they have tried to engage with Chinese Construction Company together with Uganda national road authority to unblock the drainage but nothing has been done for the last one year.
