NCBA Bank has maintained its commitment towards supporting the sport of Golf in Uganda.

In this, the bank has announced the sponsorship package worth 80 million Uganda shillings for organizing the NCBA Junior Golf series due to take place between 29th of March and 1st of April in Kampala

The Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa will host this year’s event in partnership with US Kids Golf as part of initiatives to groom Africa’s next generation of Golfers.

The tournament follows the US Kids Golf World Championship format whereby juniors play different yardages based on their age group and also use it as a qualifier to represent their nations at our global affiliate events.

The tournament was designed to prepare the young generation for Greatness in future tournaments in Uganda, the region and indeed globally, in line with NCBA’s ethos of Go For It! .Muyobo noted.

He added that it is also in line with NCBA’s belief that the uniqueness and sportsmanship in golf has the potential to enhance integrity, friendship, discipline and self- esteem in African communities.

The event is expected to bring together over 200 junior Golfers, representing over a dozen nationalities. The best golfers from the competition would secure a place in the Rome Classic in Italy and the Big Five South Africa Tournament.

It is also an opportunity to enable children to learn the rules and etiquette of golf, aimed at improving their social, psychological, and physical attributes.
