The state Minister of Microfinance Hon Haruna Kyeyune Kasolo has called for a multisectoral approach towards the promotion of the sports sector.
Represented by his assistants Henry Busulwa and Martin Kitumba at an event where he handed over UGX 2M as a contribution to the Uganda Marathon, Hon Kasolo notes that the industry needs joint efforts to enhance its growth.
With Prince Wassajja being the Chief Runner, the 2024 Uganda Marathon is scheduled to take place on Friday, May /31st/2024 the set-off will be at Ssaza football pitch.
All proceeds that will come from the marathon will be directed towards the construction of the Buddu football pitch.
While receiving the Minister’s contribution, the Buganda Kingdom Prime Minister Charles Peter Mayiga applauded him for his passion for the growth of the kingdom and Uganda as a country.
He also showed gratitude for the work the minister does to eradicate poverty among Ugandans such as Emyooga among others.
Besides the contribution of UGX 2M towards the marathon, the Minister pledged to donate another UGX 20M that will be extended towards the construction of the Buddu football stadium.
