Police today fired teargas to disperse protests by Forum for Democratic Change-FDC party supporters around Luwumu and Ben Kiwanuka streets in Kampala Central division.

Chaos broke out after two FDC supporters emerged from Nakivubo flashing the FDC V party symbol. They were intercepted by police at Total pump fuel station along Nakivubo road next to Mukwano arcade.

The arrest of the two men sparked off protests drawing in other people. The protests prompted traders on Gazaland, Mukwano and Shopping arcade to close their shops for fear of being caught in the chaos.

The chaos prompted police to fire teargas to disperse the protesters.  Four other people were picked up by police and bundled on a waiting police van. The FDC party leadership accuses the incumbent president Yoweri Museveni of robbing the victory of their candidate Dr. Kizza Besigye
