Government says it will not increase the unconditional monthly grant of 25,000 shillings for the elderly until the program is rolled out country wide.
The program currently covers 154,000 older persons in only 35 districts.
The general secretary Social Assistance Grant for Empowerment (SAGE) program under the ministry of gender Stephen Kasaija says there is a high demand for the grant in other districts hence they cannot review the current monthly income.
