Molly Katanga Remanded in Luzira for Murder

Molly Katanga the widow to the late murdered  businessman  Henry Katanga has been remanded to Luzira government prison after being charged with her husband's alleged murder.

The widow was on Wednesday  produced before  Nakawa Magistrates Court  from her  Hospital bed  after a warrant of arrest was issued on Monday this week. She was driven in an ambulance and wheeled into the courtroom by the help of prison warders.

This after the Director of Public Prosecutions accused her of snubbing court  since November last year to be officially charged over the said murder,

Some of the intended evidence  to be used by the  DPP include the  ballistic expert report where  gun powder residue was found on her arms.

Prosecution states   that on  November,  2nd, 2023 at the family's home on Chwa 2 Road in Nakawa division in Kampala district with malice aforethought Molly Katanga killed her husband Henry Katanga.

Further  evidence intended to be adduced by the DPP include;  claims that Molly Katanga wanted to change her husband's will and that she had started tracking his movements.

The couple  had  been married since 1991 and had 4 children.

Her r husband had revealed the alleged widows intentions to a close family friend before his sudden demise.

She has now been remanded to Luzira Prison until the next convenient session of the High Court.

Four of her co accused persons including two of her daughters are also on remand at Luzira government prison after being charged with destroying evidence in the said murder .
