The High Court in Kampala has  set the 29th of this month to hear a bail application filed by the two daughters of Henry Katanga who are charged with destroying evidence that links their mother in the alleged murder.

Patricia Kakwanza and  Martha Nkwanzi are jointly charged with medical doctor Charles Orai and home Shamba boy George Amanirre.

These are currently on remand at Luzira government prison after pleading not guilty to the  charges and have since been committed to the high court for trial.

Martha and Patricia face charges of destroying/ removing valuable evidence regarding the murder of their father Henry Katanga,  while  Amanyire and Otai are charged with accessory after the murder.

They are charged on the same indictment with their mother  Molly Katanga for murder of her husband.

Prosecution states  that on November,  2nd, 2023 at the family's home on Chwa 2 Road in Nakawa division in Kampala district, knowing that certain things may be required as evidence in a  judicial proceeding , Nkwanzi and Kakwanza removed/ destroyed or made them ineligible for identification with an intention of preventing them from being used.

It's alleged that Amanyire and Otai, knowing  that Molly Katanga  and her daughters were liable for an offence, assisted them to escape punishment.
