Kampala Woman MP and Lawyer to incarcerated Opposition MPs Muhammad Ssegirinya and Allan Ssewanyana has revealed that she is receiving life threatening Messages from Unkown people, threatening to harm her if she doesnot stop representing the two MPs.
While appearing before Masaka Chief Magistrate Grace Wakooli, for the mentioning of her clients's case, Malende revealed that most of these threatening messages are in form of phone Messages through relatives and trailing among others.
Malende added that she has since reported the matter to police and Court has advised her to engage the CID at Kibuli and further seek extra protection from the office of the IGP to allow her represent her people without any intimidation.
State Prosecutor Richard Bilivumbuka criticised the said threats and advised her to also seek police intervention.
He meanwhile informed court that investigations are still on going and the court ordered police to conclude the said investigations bybthe 15th of this month.
The state prosecutor further told court that he was t not aware that MP Ssegirinya is not at Luzira Maximum prison were he was transferred for better medical attention.
Counsel Malende has vowed to never be intimidated by such threats in seeking justice for her clients and fellow party members.
Last month, the MP was trailled by unknown people on her way to Masaka High Court and her car tyres were deflated. Police promised to investigate the matter over the said incident.
