Ssegirinya And Ssewanyana Return to Court.

Lawyers representing MP Muhammad Ssegirinya and Allan Ssewanyana are already at  the High Court in Masaka as the two Opposition legislators are expected to return for further mention of their case.

On the 25th of October this year, Justice Lawrence Tweyanze, declined to grant bail to the MPs on grounds that the  legislators were  likely to interfere with the ongoing investigations into their case.

Justice Tweyanze has also dismissed the Legislators claims of not getting sufficient medical attention in Kigo government prison, but rather, directed the Authorities at the prison to see that the MPs get the required medical attention.

Kawempe North MP Ssegirinya has since been admitted at Mulago Hospital for further medical attention,  whike Makindye West MP Allan Sewanyana remains at Kigo Government prison.

The MPs are charged with murder and terrorism  in which Prosecution  alleges that on the 4th day of August 2021,the MPs   killed a one Bwanika Joseph of Kisekka B Village, Kankamba Parish, Lwengo District.

They are jointly  charged with four others including Sserwada Mike, Muwonge Jude,Wamala Bulo and Mugerwa John in which prosecution states that the group on the 23rd of August at Ssenya Village,in the Masaka City,with malice aforethought killed Kiyimba Tadeo and attempted to murder Ssebyoto Ronald on the same day at Ssettaala Village. 

The group is said to have planned the alleged murders at Happy boys, Kalenda, and  Kayanja Estate House in Kampala.

 They are also said to have participated in the murder of Slaiman Kakooza, Michael Kiza Nswa on August 23rd 2021,at Ssetela Village, Kimanya,Kabonera divison .

They were remanded on the 8th of September 2021 after they were arrested at Masaka police station were they had gone for the second day to make police statements on the famous 'bijambiya' killings in Masaka district. 

Police says some of the suspects arrested, implicated the two MPs of having hired them to carry out the killings, allegedly promising them large sums of money.
